closed_signWhen We Are Closed

On Thursday afternoons, urgent medical cover is provided by Sutton Benger Surgery. Please telephone (01249) 720244.

For all emergencies, please call 999.

Call 999 in an emergency.

Chest pains, shortness of breath, acute onset of facial or one sided weakness are examples of symptoms that would constitute an emergency.

When we are closed overnight and at weekends, you should call 111 for advice and to arrange an out of hours GP consultation if appropriate.

Urgent out of hours matters are dealt with by Medvivo.

Please call 111 or follow the instructions on the answering message of the main surgery telephone number. You can also access 111 online.

You may be asked to attend the Primary Care Centre located at Chippenham Hospital.

Chippenham Minor Injury Unit (MIU) is open for appointments only from Monday 6th July for patients who have contacted NHS 111 first and been booked an appointment. They ARE NOT open for 'walk-in' patients without an appointment.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MIU at Trowbridge Community Hospital is temporarily closed and staff have been redeployed to provide vital additional capacity elsewhere in the local area

There is a nurse led Minor Injuries Unit at Chippenham Hospital. The service runs 7 days a week but is closed overnight between 23:00 and 07:00. Tel: (01249) 456403 or 456404.
X-ray department is open Monday-Friday between 09:00 and 16:30.

Trowbridge Minor Injuries Unit runs a 24 hour service. (01225) 711329

For more serious injuries, we advise you to attend either:

Royal United Hospital, Bath (01225) 428331

Great Western Hospital, Swindon (01793) 604020

Southmead Hospital, Bristol (0117) 950 5050

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
