How Do I Make An Appointment?
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way that we, and all GP practices, manage appointments.
During the pandemic, and in order to keep patients safe, we introduced telephone consultations with our GPs. In some cases, the GPs would subsequently arrange to see patients face-to-face, where needed, but in many cases a telephone consultation was enough and proved to be a preferred, and sometimes more convenient, method for some patients.
Many consultations can be dealt with on the telephone, without the need to see a GP face-to-face. If your problem is something which requires being seen face-to-face, please do let our reception team know. Patients can choose to book either a face-to-face consultation or a telephone consultation.
Please telephone reception in order to book appointments with our GPs and Nurses. You can also book some GP appointments online. Please visit our 'Online Services' page for all information about online services and how to register.
If you choose to book a telephone consultation, you will be given an approximate time for GP to telephone you - this could be slightly later or earlier based on how the GP's clinic is going. Please book your telephone consultation on a day that you are able to receive a call. It would be appreciated if patients were not driving at the time of their telephone consultations, for safety and in order for the GP to conduct a thorough and clear consultation.
Whether you book a telephone consultation or a face-to-face consultation, you have a right to express a preference of practitioner and we will do our best to give you an appointment with the GP of your choice. Should your preferred GP not have a free appointment you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GPs in the practice.
You will never be refused an appointment with a GP if one is available. If you no longer need your appointment please do let us know so that the appointment can be used to help another patient. If you have an online services account, you can cancel any booked appointments via your account.
Please remember that appointments are for ONE person only.
If you feel your consultation may be lengthy, please ask the receptionist for a double appointment when you book.
